Thanks for sharing your article, and I absolutely agree. There has long been an idea that the Constitution "can do no wrong." Roughly a month ago, Tennessee State representative Justin Lafferty defended the Three-Fifths Compromise, claiming "By limiting the number of population in the count, specifically limited the number of representatives that would be available in the slaveholding states, and they did it for the purpose of ending slavery — well before Abraham Lincoln, well before the Civil War." To me, this is proof Lost Cause is alive and well in the South; and, further, that our country has a deeply misled understanding of the Constitution. I think now more than ever, parents and teachers need to step to the plate and inform kids on these critical topics.
