Excellent article Glenn. I took to twitter recently and asked for the definition of racism. As you can imagine, the responses were unique and varied. However, an overwhelming number believed racism constituted acting on racial prejudice in the form of slander or malice. The problem with this logic is that racism begins with the mind. Most would not admit it due to the negative attention racism receives, however, everyone has a certain sense of superiority. Whether it is to do with sex, economics, or race. We are genetically designed to size one another up — as a basic instinct of survival. I’m not justifying racism, merely saying it is engrained within us. Admitting to the fact is humanizing.
