I couldn't have said it better myself. One major challenge facing current historians is to record COVID without bias, forgetfulness, or inaccuracies. One of my favorite quotes is by French historian Vidal Naquet; he says, "Setting memory in motion, of doing, in short, for history what Proust did for the novel. This is no easy task…" though by doing so, we would realize, "writing history is also a work of art." While future generations draw on memory to fill in the gaps for lost information, it is equally essential for current historians to address their own minds before taking pen to the page.
