Very interesting theories! In 1915 Germany declared unrestricted submarine warfare (USW) on the Allies and claimed they would not be responsible for any casualties. As a result, they sank the British liner, the Lusitania, suspecting it be transporting ammunition. The sinking killed 1,915 people—including 125 Americans. The U.S. was still sending supplies into British ports at this time, so German subs were a threat to every ship. It is possible the Titanic could have been used to transport goods to Britain, and maybe even smuggle weapons.
